One minute for wishes so harsh
I wish to fall asleep and slip away
Into the shadows of disarray
To find the truths inside the lies
Would be everything I have been denied

I wish to hide my face and fake a smile
Wash away the stubborn cover of denial
To let go of all that is held inside
And not feel the need to fake my pride

I wish to cry and doubt again.
Then to feel okay and just pretend
To watch the world slowly dissipate
As we learn to accept what we can’t escape

I wish to break then to fade once more
To forget the hope and barricade the door.
I’ll gather away these little imperfections
And watch them make the necessary corrections

I wish to know what exactly I’m missing
Is it the lips of love or death I am kissing?
Fate tempted seems only suicide
But who would renounce this lovely demise?
