Remember sneaking out of the house as a teen? Please review & comment.
You knock on my window and invite me out to play in the night.
The sky is bright with the moon shining and all the stars alight.
We run around the side of the house and jump into your car.
We won’t be back till light and no one will know where we are.

Together we make quite a sight; you big & tall, making me feel quite slight.
We ride around most the night making sure to take the back roads and keep out of sight.
The moon leaches all the colors from the night.
Your gray car in the moon light turns white.
My sneakers are dew damp and squeaky.
My smile for you is large and genuine at being so sneaky.

You turn the lights off as down the roads we rode.
I’m so afraid of crashing that I shiver as if cold.
You pull on to a small trail in the corn field to park.
The moon light makes the Landscape look so stark.
We sit in silence and watch the moons path in the sky.
Remembering it now makes me want to cry.
The morning is coming soon, so we say goodbye to the moon.
It’s time to go home and because it’s not far; I’m already missing this time in your car.
