Katelyn Gate,a mother of 2 children is waiting for her husband Larry to come home from war
Katelyn Gate sighed lying on the couch in the house that belonged to her and her husband-Larry Gate, husband of 3 years and a half. "4 years in November" Katelyn thought.
(Another summer day has come and gone away
In Paris and Rome, I wanna go home
Maybe surrounded by a million people I
Still feel all alone, I just wanna go home
Oh, I miss you, you know
And I've been keeping all the letters that I wrote to you
Each one a line or two, "'I'm fine baby how are you?"
Well, I would send them but I know that it's just not enough
My words were cold and flat and you deserve more than that
Another airplane, another sunny place I'm lucky I know
but I wanna go home, I've got to go home)

It is now July 16th, Larry was sent to Iraq, the end of August of Last year, a few weeks after their second child- Lily was born and just before their son-LJ was due to start school.
(Chorus
Let me go home
I'm just too far from where you are
I gotta come home
Let me go home
I've had my run, baby I'm done
I wanna come home)

They told her he would be allowed to come back at the end of October.  They kept in touch by letters and phone calls which were only allowed every two weeks.

(And I feel just like I'm living someone else's life
It's like I just stepped outside when everything was going right
And I know just why you could not come along with me
'Cause this was not your dream, but you always believed in me
Another winter day has come and gone away
In neither Paris nor Rome and I wanna go home
I miss you, you know)

It was his dream to fight for his country, it tore him apart when he had to leave her, she cried and hasn't left the house for more than a few hours ever since he left and her friends- Annie Lake and Kirsty Roberts had to take LJ to school as well as their own kids.
She missed him so much.
(Let me go home
I've had my run
Baby I'm done
I wanna go home
Let me go home
It'll all be alright
I'll be home tonight
I'm coming back home)

She sighed "I should have never let him go" she thought.
Suddenly the doorbell rang. She got up "that’ll be the school run." She thought. She opened the doorbell picking up some flowers in a nice vase to give to the girls for her friends for picking up her son.
She opened the door. She dropped the flowers and the vase smashed into a million pieces.
“LARRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Katelyn said with tears in her eyes as she kissed her husband after almost 11 months. He picked her up and held her close.
“They said you wouldn’t be home until October!”
Katelyn said as he walked into his house. Larry smiled.
“Yeah well, I took a stand and since I had so many medals and I was high officer I got my ticket home as I got a broken leg”
Larry said as Katelyn laughed just as there are footsteps heard from the kitchen and little footsteps coming towards them. Lily ran into the hallway, and when she saw her dad she squealed and ran towards him.
“DADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Lily said as Larry grinned and picked her up and kissed her.
“She’s really happy to see me. I’m surprised she remembers what I look like. She was only a few weeks old when she last saw me!”
Larry said as Lily squealed again.
“I have a picture of you in her room, opposite her cot, and when she got up in the morning I used to ask her who it was in the picture when she could speak a bit and that’s how I made sure she didn’t forget.”
Katelyn said as they walked into the sitting room. Katelyn put lily in her play cot while the couple sat down on the couch.
“And where’s my little star?”
Larry asked looking around for his first son.
“He’s at school…….”
Katelyn answered.
“Shouldn’t we go and get him then??”
Larry asked confused nodding at the clock.
“No, Annie and Kirsty said they would bring him home, which was what the flowers were for to say thank you. They were the only people who helped me believe that you hadn’t been killed. Because I got a phone call from the sergeant about June saying you were to be sent home in October, since you were badly injured. Did you run away???”
Katelyn asked.
“No, he lied to you. He had let me go!”
Larry said as the doorbell rang.
“I’ll get it you stay in here until I tell you to come through, the code word is peaches!”
Katelyn says getting up and opens the door to find a crying LJ, with an out of breath Kirsty and Annie. Katelyn picks up LJ, and opens the door and lets them in but makes sure Larry is not viewable.
“What happened???????”
Katelyn asked concerned.
“He um, well, when we went to get Larry Jr he was crying and we asked the teacher why and she said because one of the older kids had punched him because he wouldn’t give them his lunch money.”
Kirsty started
“ And then……….after that the boy came walking up to LJ and then LJ hit him and then ran off……the kid ran to his mum……and then we had to chase him all through the street because he thought we were the kid and his friends. AND then he almost got hit by a bus but luckily Henry got to him just in time and LJ  started to cry again because the bus beeped its horn!”
Annie said.
“Awwww.”
Katelyn said as she kissed her son’s head.
“Why are you so happy?”
Kirsty asked curiously.
“I have something to show you guys, but first I’m gonna get some PEACHES!”
Katelyn said as the living room door opened and Larry walked out.
“LARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
The two girls exclaimed running and hugging him, when LJ saw his dad he struggled to get out of Katelyn’s arms.
“DADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Larry Jr exclaimed as Larry picked up his son with tears in his eyes and kissing his son on the top of his head.
“Well we better go. Bye you guys.”
Kirsty said as they left and Larry shut the door behind them. Katelyn kissed him.
“I love you!
“I love you more!”
They kiss again.
The End!
