A poem I wrote that reflects childrens attraction to playing with matches. Hope you enjoy!
Playing With Fire

Choking on lost emotion,
The children play,
They've got to grow up,
But not today,

They promise you a world,
Please love to live,
They say they've,
Nothing more to give,

Hand you whatever you desire,
Within reason your smiles tire,
Your mouth goes drier,
They know you’re playing with fire,

Wishing on frozen lakes,
Never gunna’ break,
See it through 'till the end,
No more time to spend,

Smoke in your hands,
Glowing like silver sands,
Trying to hide,
But you’re such a bad liar,
They all know you've been playing with fire,

Smell it from the next room,
White shadows sneaking in,
Black match falls to the floor,
There it goes again,
The sound of sin,

Strike the light for the hundredth time,
Blowing the burning chime,
Put your eyes at rest,
Overcome your tests,
But never knowing when,
Before you know it,
You've stricken again,

Smoke pours from your hands,
Like pure waves on silver sands,
You can try to hide it,
You can try to pretend,
You’re such a bad liar,
We all know,
You've been playing with fire,
We all know,
You're such a bad liar,
You've been playing with fire

Smoke pours from your hands,
Like pure waves on silver sands,
You can try to hide it,
You can try to pretend,
But you’re such a bad liar,
Because we all know,
You've been playing with fire,
We all know,
You’re such a bad liar,
You've been playing with fire,

You found it fun,
To burn and run,
Never thought they’d know,
But now their suspicions are growing,
Higher and higher,
I think they know,
You’ve been playing with fire,
