not for young readers
Smiles and laughs
they were just all pretend
a tear and a frown it was all real.
you were a lonely, sad young boy
you had the whole future in your hands
the straight A's student.
the good looks.
the guy that got any girl he wanted.
you see, nothing was missing.
but no one knew you were falling apart
how you fell way to fast
no one seemed to notice or even hear you.
for the time you held at it to your head.
no one was there.
you left us no warning
just a letter saying you hate your life
you left us without a sign.
all you left behind was a dead young boy
with a gun in his hand and a pool of blood coming from the hole in your forehead.
tears fell upon your chest
as she fell to her knees
and held you in her arms weeping and asking herself what she did wrong.
All you left her with was the gun that spoke your last words.
