This one's a bit more sinister. Please read and review!
Waiting. Waiting for the black nothingness of death to claim me.
I could feel the blood pouring out of the deep wound that pierced my heart. Why wasn’t I dying?! Starting to panic,my rattling breath got faster and faster as it escaped my mouth, my face twisted in pain. I didn’t want to open my eyes and see my blood all over the floor and the pain on his face. Maybe if I stopped breathing, the torture would be over and I wouldn't have to pretend anymore.
I could hear them all banging on the door. My mum’s desperate pleas and my dad’s empty threats. Why didn’t they understand? This is what I wanted. For a while now I'd needed to escape and I had known it would only be a matter of time before I couldn't take it anymore and would reach breaking point. I winced again as the wound seemed to get deeper and I could feel the colour leaving my face as I was pulled away from my existence on this cruel planet. Images flashed in my mind, getting faster and faster as I tried to hold onto my precious memories. I needed to take them with me wherever I was going now.
The final terrifying picture lingered. It was dark figure in a hooded black robe. He raised his hand and with a shock I realized that it wasn't a man at all but a skeleton. In his hand was an hourglass and all the sand was trapped in the bottom section. He raised his head and I ccould see his empty holes where his eyes should be. Death at last.
I was pulled back to the present and clenched my fists tightly as the vivid image disappeared. Looking up, I saw the white clouds swirling above me. Someone had moved me from my flat to a hill, surrounded by beautiful green grass and gazing up at the blue sky. My vision blurred and dazzling winged creatures flew down to me. They stroked my face and gently lifted me up to the kingdom above. I felt hot tears spill down her cheeks as I saw all of my family waving her goodbye from below and felt for the wound that had brought me here. There was no longer a mark or any pain. I grasped the angel’s hand and waited to face my next journey.
