Just a poem.
I pick up the rose petal

From the ground coated with dew

A drop of water clings to it

But falls back onto an emerald spear of grass

And sparkles like a diamond in the warm morning sunlight.

I look at the rose this petal has fallen from

The one that stands taller than all the rest

The one whose perfect pink melts into a breathtaking red

Like paint blended by an artist’s brush.

I am like this rose petal

I was taken out of where I belong;

I am on my own

And I am going to have to let fate take its course.

Just like the petal

Where its pink fades to white,

Where it was once connected to the stem of the rose,

There is a part of me that is connected in some way to the ones who have left me.

I place the velvety rose petal in my pocket

And continue on my way

Looking for the place

Where I truly belong.
