Man is sympathized by different things and pitied. Better than it sounds.
He was crying in the moonlight

Pitied by the stars

Sympathizing with the moon

Wishing up afar

He was crying down on the earth

Pitied by the trees

Sympathizing with the grass

Bent sadly on his knees

He was crying down in the ocean

Pitied by the waves

Sympathizing with the tides

And in so many ways

He was crying on top of the mountain

Pitied by the earth

Sympathizing with the rock

Trying to make it of its worth

He sat crying in his home

Pitied by the ghosts

Sympathizing with the spirits

And talking with his folks.

He wept in the asylum

Pitied by the nurses

Sympathizing with the other patients

Muttering obstruct curses.

He weeps inside his cell

Pitied by God himself

Sympathizing with his own person

And slowly forgetting himself.

He weeps between Heaven and Hell

Pitied by more angels

Sympathizing with the pre-judged souls

And cursing with the Devil.

He finally praises with Heaven and the Lord

Pitying the misfortune of others

Sympathizing with his sisters

Paying respects to parents and brothers.

He finally looks upon earth but with a saddened gaze, saying

“Earth, should I compare you to Hell—Let me count the ways”

And so he made a prayer to the Lord

To take the bitterness of the world away

And he still requests it to this day.
