Things are usually taken without warning, we're here to pick up the pieces.
All that's left to do
is to put one foot in front
of the other
and hope for the best
and eliminate the worst
by stepping carefully.
This one-way road
can't break the rules
just for me,
so I'm stuck in the future
with a blind past
and an unsure present.
My feet know the turns and curves well,
but I've never seen this place before
and I wanted to turn back
and run into yesterday,
and maybe,
maybe someone will hold me
and it won't hurt anymore.
