My mother's favorite poem that i have written, though i wrote it about her.
Your disease
I can't find the cure,
buried away
in this deep desert

Empy and hollow,
nothing but skin and bones,
your disease
swallows you whole

Your disease,
it's contagious,
sweeping us all in a wave
and taking us out to sea

Vast and lonely,
nothing but fear and denial,
your disease
swallows you whole

Your disease,
it's the person you used to be;
lost and unaware,
alone.

Shaking and tired,
impaired judgement,
your disease
swallows you whole

Your disease,
the fear deep within me,
makes me hate
what has become of you.
