Sunni is faced with the hardest decision she has ever made
“You can’t avoid me forever,” Kendal said to me. I stared in her eyes. We had been standing in my doorway for what seemed like eternity. She was the last person I expected to see when I opened the door, as I kept thinking how I should’ve asked who was at the door first. “Cat got your tongue?” She questioned.

“Dog has my manuscript. What else could she possibly want?” I responded motioning her to come in.

“You never responded when I asked you why you were in Miami?” Kendal walked in, looked around my living room, picked up a magazine, and, nonchalantly, placed it back down on the kitchen counter. She turned and began walking back towards me. She stopped.

“You flew down here just to find out?”

“I have business down here. I have an office around the corner. You know that.”

“So?”

“So, what were you doing in Miami?”

I remained silent and just looked at her. She walked closer towards me and began speaking, “You were looking for me, weren’t you?”

I looked down at the floor and looked back up. Our eyes met. “Maybe,” I responded. She smirked.

“Why didn’t you take me with you?”

“The trip had nothing to do with business.”

“You hung up so abruptly the night before you left. You’ve never done that to me before.”

“That bothered you.”

“Yes.”

“I went to Miami to see my ex girlfriend.”

This time I smirked. “But, you told me you weren’t a lesbian. You lied?”

Kendal shrugged her shoulders and just said, “sue me.”

“Why would you lie about that?”

“The same reason you did.” Kendal looked away from me towards the kitchen cabinets.

“I..I..I never lied about anything,” I responded as quickly as possible.

“You lied about not wanting to sleep with me.”

I shook my head “no” but my mouth just stayed open, in a circular fashion. I exhaled. Kendal looked back at me with her hands behind her back. She waited for me to respond.

“Come here.” I pulled Kendall by her shirt towards me. I kissed her and inhaled her. Her perfume, her tongue, her lips, her soul were mine. She grabbed my jaw and pushed me into my front door. We locked hands and she placed them above my head. She kissed me. She looked in my eyes and I could feel her asking for permission to go further. I let go of her hands and grabbed her head to fully experience the intensity of her kiss. She grabbed my left leg and brought it to her waist.

“Sunni! Damn, wake up! Somebody named Kendal is at the front door,” Robert said, shaking me so hard I almost fell out of my recliner.
