A short message for a friend.

Today she wrote of Summer’s dream
And sent with it a flower,
To wash away the scent of Death
And with it Winter’s powder.

Today she sang of Summer’s swan
And sent with it a feather,
To wash away a broken past
And with it Winter’s weather.

Today she danced with Summer’s joy
And sent with it a father,
To wash away a lonely heart
And fill it back with wonder.
