A I shop at Marks and Spencers
B Chance would be a fine thing.
A I have a good job. I've worked hard for it.
B I don't have a job.
A You might get a job if you dressed better.
B I can't afford new clothes.
A I buy branded clothing.
B Mine is from charity shops.
A People respect me.
B People pretend they've not seen me.
A I like going on holiday.
B I don't have holidays.
A Got any CDs? I've got a great collection.
B No.
A What about DVDs?
B No.
A I go to church every week.
B Really?
A Yes. You should come to our church. Well, not ours perhaps. They might get a bit funny about a homeless person turning up. But I'm sure there are other churches where they'd welcome you. The Salvation Army - they take anybody.
B Yes, I know what you mean.
A Anyway, it's been nice to meet you.
B And you...what's your name?
A I'm Dave. And what's your name?
B Jesus.
