A transitional phase in my life when I moved to a new job and location.
As I set here thinking
Of dear friends once near
My heart and feeling sinking
For they are no longer here.

I cherish their friendship
And their thoughtful advice
Because every friend is like a chocolate chip
Sometimes hard on the feeling but what a delight

But in hind sight
We never truly leave those we love
They are always in our hearts just a gift from above.

We will meet others whom we call friends.
Those new friends not to replace the old ones.
And start that journey again.

And when we come to the end of life.
We will all unite.
With everyone we cherish.
In that place we go after life.
