Thought I'd vent my feelings.
I knew it could never happen.
I knew we would never be.
I knew you didn't feel the same,
When you looked at me.

I didn't think you loved me.
I might have hoped, it's true.
You never stopped to consider,
How much love I felt for you.

I had a feeling this might happen.
That you'd fall in love again.
I hoped, after the last time
I'd find a way to end this pain.

I suppose I could listen to sad songs,
And cry myself to sleep
But what good would ever come of that?
It wouldn't do to sit and weep.

No, I suppose I'll find my own way,
To make it through my life
And one day when you're older
And married, with a wife
You'll look back and think about
All the times you missed,
When I declared my love for you,
The love that you dismissed.
