Just something I wrote.
Memories...

I see you standing,
Your head held high
Towards the horizon,
Towards the sky.

Your eyes so light;
Full of clarity
Have gone, died
Killing with it, your beauty.

Held a little tighter,
My insides scream.
Tears fall freely,
I want it all to be a dream.

As pale as the ground
And the circling snow.
I see nothing else,
But a person I use to know.

None of this you know
But I will never forget,
When you turned from me
Without a single regret.

You left me alone,
Never coming back.
But I still hope - remember,
Of the one solid memory –
I still have intact.

That you loved me
For that short minute of life.
One of the happiest moments
Before all the strife.

Out of my mind,
You turn your head
I think, for one second, you realise me -
Then you smile at her instead

She walks towards you,
Through the falling snow
Her hand outstretched for yours,
Something I’d yearned for, a long time ago.

Smash, crack, break,
Shatter.
To you, I stay inconspicuous,
To you, I don’t matter.
