"a glimpse of emerald green eyes ... looking at him like that ..."
Oh Sweet Distractions.

Rofez finally stirred and focused his eyes after an exhausted reverie -
only to catch a glimpse of emerald green eyes ... looking at him like that ...

A moment later they closed, and were gone from his waking vision.

Warm lips pressed against his own and a perfect kiss came out of nowhere... it vaguely registered somewhere in his mind that the deepness of it should have taken him off guard, but he didn't miss a beat.
He was far too accustomed to such affections not to kiss her back, and match it well.

He felt Abi wrapping herself around him, and without so much as a thought, he automatically complied, pulling her closer.

The familiarity felt good.

The lust felt good...

He squeezed her hands tightly at the intensity of the pleasure.

Fingers firmly entwined, both their knuckles almost white, both breathing hard, his breaths mingling with hers.

Some time passed. The lovers paused and locked eyes.

They lay perfectly still and tangled together, except for their lips which were only inches apart.
Both were frozen in a standstill coil of passion for that one moment as they gazed, emerald green eyes holding their ground against dark green, and vice versa.

Holding their ground? Or inviting? Challenging?
Taking - or letting each other in.
Two sets of green eyes regarding their lover's with unspoken hopes, grudges, fears... Who could know.

He didn't.
Perhaps she did. Or perhaps she knew nothing.
Perhaps she was doing this all on purpose...

The moment passed.

Their eyes lost focus, then closed.
The other senses consumed them, the depth of the intimate embrace flowed into an intense kiss and passion took over once again.

.... Hours later, they lay still, side by side on the bed with items of clothing discarded carelessly off to the side on the floor.
Both silently tried to catch up with their own breathing.

It was only then that he thought to wonder what it meant.
