Going to the circus
I once asked my parents what is at the circus,
Well a circus is a travelling family company of performers
Who set up their show in the big top
Held in an oval or circular arena called a ring,
With tiered seating around its edge.
There are acrobats who fly through the air
While clowns wear their funny face masks, big red noses, baggy trousers and huge shoes
Sometimes there are animals like elephants who parade around the ring
Then there are the tightrope walkers who are high above the crowd balancing on a rope
Crowds looking up with huge anticipation are they going to make it across
Many jugglers and unicyclists perform to the crowd
Applause and cheers all round
More more they shout
Mum, Dad, can I go to the circus please!!!
