poem to my daughter

The world is mine when you look into my eyes
When I look into yours I see better days and blissful tales
Your presence is love and that’s the truth with which I’m able to be
a powerful being to your delicate soul
Molding and guiding you to becoming a strong free spirit
You need to read and love your life for it is yours and mine to enjoy
Heed what I say for I have walked this jazzy, spiteful, mystified world
Learnt its teachings and found my core
And grown into woman built like a brick shithouse
be yourself and your maker will be pleased
recognize your thoughts and feelings,
respect every creature and receive your blessings
dream far above the ground and work hard
read! Read! Read! Reflect and listen,
to that humble voice inside
wear the colors of your tradition with pride
if you fall or fail or fright , make sure you rise
my highness, my strength
thanks you for your pleasant presence
welcome to the world,
Enjoy your ride.
