First draft for my Autobiographical Poem its about the death of my friend he was 7
Tear Stained Eyes

9/1/10

People surrounded the door to a room.

I braced myself as I walked in arm

& arm with Jon Michael.

“Get ready Mandi this is going to be hard.”

I saw Slade, Bug & Lindsay and

I knew he wasn’t lying.

My heart dropped.

A piece was missing.

I made my way up to the front of the room and

What I saw broke me.

I felt the crying start.

My throat was numb.

I couldn’t speak.

I should have seen a smiling

7 year old boy laughing and

Playing Football with the older boys, instead

I saw sadness.

Their laid my angel

Swollen

My spirit was broken

The casket was 4 feet long.

He was surrounded by silly bands and stuffed animals.

He was wearing his favorite Perry the Platypus shirt.

He was happy I knew that.

The last time I ever saw my angel I held his cold, stiff hand

And kissed him goodbye

I saw all of this through my tear stained eyes.
