A poem I just wrote in memory of my roommate who left without a goodbye,
She left in place of the sun
While I slept silent
She folded up her half of the mattress
Complete with her food
Pictures
And memories
She took every opportunity
All the conversations left unfinished
She tucked away
The corners of my smile
For a mystery mile
She left me her key
And a tin of coffee
For a cup
We’ll never share
Again
