Just a short piece I wrote for a girl I like
His body burned with desire. Her eyes still clung to that old sparkle as she looked around. He could see that something about his presence was bothering her. She would look at him for one fleeting moment and then continue her scanning of the room. His heart began to beat even faster, and he could feel his palms sweating as he continued to stare at her.
Their eyes met again, but this time she held the link. He swallowed hard, and a bead of sweat trickled down his arm from his pit. She gazed into his eyes, just like she used to, and that magical sparkle assumed full manifestation. He finally drew up enough courage and asked her to dance. She accepted.
On the dance floor she was even more beautiful than at the table. The light hit her in such a way that she literally glowed, her dress glistening as they rocked slowly back and forth, holding each other very loosely.
“I think it is time that I correct a mistake we made almost a year ago now,” he said.
“And that is?” Although she knew what he was talking about, she wanted to hear him say it himself.
He stared hard into her eyes, and a tear began to swell up in him.
    “Us,” he finally said.
“I agree,” she said, and they brought each other into an even deeper embrace, holding each other for the end of time.
“I can hear your heart beat, just like I used to,” she said suddenly, her head on his chest.
    “It has reason to again.”
He then leaned forward and kissed her.
