Just wanted a normal day but no that couldn't happen now could it? Nope. Instead of a relaxing afternoon in the meadows with my friend Rachel. My best friend. We find ourselves being stalked by something...something not human or even classified as an animal yet...we first notice something amiss when arriving and setting up camp, we call out telling whomever is there watching us better go or else. The patter of feet was heard and all grew quiet except for the wind blowing through the hills. A few hours later we're laying in the grass nearing sleep then I hear trotting in the distance. I shot up and looked in the direction of the sound with her by my side. Our eyes grew wide seeing the object tromp towards us.  It was nearing and we saw it's horrific appearance...only we didn't stand a chance.

“Rachel move!”

I shoved her out of the way and carried us to the ground as flames covered the area where we had stood moments earlier.

“shit…we need to get out of here.” I wheezed.

Rachel looked at me with panic.

“Yeah…”

She was in a state of shock as the demonic creature turned towards us with eyes glowing red and teeth a gruesome bloody color from past victims that became ensnared in its cavernous mouth. Vines materialized from its cloying green body and made their way towards us. I clasped my dagger and hacked-n-slashed at the perpetuating throng of spiny arms. I heard a scream from my left and saw that they were spiraling up around Rachel’s  legs cutting deep into her flesh. Her blood seeped into the vines like a plant absorbs the sunlight, she was being raised above the ground their grip tightening as more wrapped themselves around her arms. I tore up the vines that engulfed her but they formed to swiftly for me to liberate her. I felt pressure around my ankle and my eyes shot down looking at them forming around my limbs, I stabbed and cut them into pieces freeing myself before they could get a hold of me as they did Rachel. I ran backwards dodging thrusts and hopping over clumps of vines barely missing them. I looked up at Rachel to see that she was being pulled in different directions her screams piercing the still air.

“Holy shit…Rache I‘m coming hold on!”

I sprinted full speed towards her adrenaline finally kicking in giving me an extra boost to reach her in time. Her shrieks were louder this close to her, I had cut through the mass of vines finally getting to the main ones that were pulling her.

“Terra hurry!”

She screamed again as they started tugging harder. I was by her now destroying vine after vine when I had almost finished the job I heard a loud ripping sound and a cry from her. Blood splattered across my face as I saw that she had been disarticulated and her limbs had been torn from the halves of her body that fell to the ground in a bloody mess.

“What the fuck…”

I slumped to my knees staring at her blood on my body then averted my gaze back at her remains that the demon was now feasting on in sheer delight. Each gory clump of her body that he gnawed at made a squelchy sound as its jaw moved rhythmically and quaffed up blood that was dripping from the pieces of flesh. I was frozen in fear unable to flee regardless of the screaming in my head soliciting my unyielding legs to dash. I heard a gurgling noise from the creatures throat as it consumed the last chunk of bloody meat. It was still hungry. I tried to crawl backwards but vines had already begun to swathe my legs and drag me forward. I dug my nails into the ground resisting the pull, my eyes were darting to and fro looking for something to hold onto but instead our eyes met. I saw the lust for blood…and human flesh in its ghastly stare. I had become irrational and was yelling at it, thrashing around uncontrollably.

“Leave me alone! What the fuck do you want!?”

The vines tightened and made a swift shift upward. My head slammed into the ground nearly putting me into a comatose. The impact left my head bleeding, small drops of blood splashed on the earth staining blades of grass glistening in the sunlight. I opened my eyes and looked around in a daze. It was drawing nearer to me, its mouth was forming into a grisly leer showing all of its rotting fangs. I knew it was over for me, there I hung helplessly awaiting to be devoured as my friend just was. I was terrified. I closed my eyes and let tears stream out mixing with my blood. I felt so terribly weak my lips moved slowly producing only a small whisper.

“Rachie…I’m so…sorry I couldn’t save you…forgive me…”

The tears began to rush out more as I choked for air. I felt breathing against my face, its foul breath filled my nose and mouth and I felt my legs being pulled in separate ways.

“I-I don’t want…to die…just yet…

I felt searing pain in my thighs as the tissues and muscles were being overextended.

“…Please someone…help…”

I opened my eyes to see burning orbs staring into mine, putting me into a trance of a sort. I was frozen, then I felt my body drop hitting the ground hard and death had overcome me lulling me into an eternal slumber.
