For the November "What A Charcter!" Contest.
The man stepped back into his vehicle disguised as a supermarket truck with a haul of bacon with his breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon. He paid cash for it, of course. A man on the run doesn't use credit cards unless they're stolen. He drove off rather slowly as not to raise suspicion. As he sat on I-98 somewhere around New York City, he reflected on the job he undertook that has him in constant pursuit of the cops. It had been a simple job. He had been dispatched to pick off an undercover agent in accordance to terrorist plots. Problem was, he was dispatched by a group of al-Qaeda troops. Oh yeah, and the person he killed was a CIA agent about to apprehend the terrorists. The ones who duped the poor man into doing their dirty work naturally vanished without a trace.

The man suddenly found a familiar truck in front of him. It was the Chevy Equinox that held the terrorists for the past few months he had been in contact with them. He came to a decision. He pulled up in front of them, and rammed the engine of the terrorists' car. The first feeling in him was pure pain such that to say it knocked the wind right out of him would be an understatement. The next was realization of his atonement. The last was pure bliss before his soul had left his body.

It was all over the news that evening. "Man Sacrifices Himself Versus Terrorists," read many articles about the event in the morning. The President later said, "We have had the great honor of a man who took down terrorists in this country. We will remember him in the fight against terrorism." The man's named died after a time when the Islamic Moderates finally took control of the Middle East and secured peace with the West. Yet his grave still reads, " A clearly misunderstood man in his life."
