Never Apart
Never apart

Sitting on a rainy day,
listening to raindrops falling,
thinking about life itself,
only a faded memory.

A memory full of joy and happiness:
singing, dancing, and death.
Death.
Bringing me back,
back to the unwanted reality.

Memories not want to be remembered,
but cannot be forgotten.
The good she told me
trying to hide the sadness.

How I wish for her soothing smile.
A smile only a mother can give,
a smile I long to see again.

Raindrops falling to the beat,
the beat of the clocks ticking.
10 minutes I was late at birth
10 minutes more I could have spent with her.

I feel alone in the darkness of day,
her love and truths the only light,
but destroyed by sorrow and pain.

The sadness shadowing over me.
Like clouds in front of the sun.
How long till the pain goes away?
How long till the sun comes out?

Then I realise,
she is not gone.
Her smile.
Her laugh.
She will never be,
for she is apart of me.
