This is the prologue
Prologue

Six ghostly creatures sat around a clear pool that rippled in the gentle breeze. A wall of tall

grass waved carelessly behind them. Above them was a depressing dark and starless sky. The only

light emanated from the pool which was filled with glittering stars. An elven girl that looked to be

about twelve years old stood up on shaky legs. Her hair was the color of the blackest coals and her

cat like eyes were dulled from fear and sorrow.

"Its time," she announced soberly as she looked toward the final heaven.

"Yes," A girl, slightly older with hair the color of the reddest apple, agreed.

One creature, his head bowed, murmured, "Can we not wait a little while longer,

Silverstream Starcaster?"

Silverstream allowed her gaze to fall on him. "I'm afraid not, Taloose. If we wait any longer

we risk the world's destruction." A shimmering tear rolled down her cheek "The dark spirit does

not acknowledge life, neither does it care for the pain of others. All it worries about is its own lust for

power. It does not matter who dies in the process, as long as it gains control."

"That is true," the red headed girl spoke up strongly. "And the world will be destroyed.

unless we act now and wipe out the evil."

A lean creature with the features of a feline purred his comfort while lazily licking a paw.

Taloose looked up and Silverstream and shook his feathery wings in an attempt to release

the build up of stress and anxiety. "But, Silverstream ... " He started, an expression of unease played

on his face. "What ... what if she fails?"

An atmosphere of uneasiness seemed to consume the darkness.

Then the balance between darkness and light will be over turned and the universe will be

plunged into a world of darkness and misery forever. The fields of souls will be destroyed and the

spirits of all who have ever lived will be lost forever in an abyss of confusion."

A female creature with huge black eyes and golden hair as bright as the sun tossed her head,

"I wonder if there was any way that we could have stopped this catastrophe."

The elf lifted up her head stubbornly and pointed at the pool of stars. "That is not important

right now. We did everything we could. There is but so much that us spirits can do, however, we

must not let this happen. This will not be the fate of all life. We will not give up. We will fight and

take back what is ours. Take up your stars now and cast them into the pool, or risk the destruction

of all life."

Each of the creatures sifted through their pouches and pulled out a handful of stardust

They then threw it into the pool. A few seconds later an image of a young girl with black hair and

brown eyes appeared under the rippling magic of the pool.

"It is just as I have feared ... The red headed girl whispered wistfully.  "My

granddaughter ... how could this be?"

"Fate is not a respecter of persons. It is her destiny. She was born to suffer for a great

cause." Silverstream said gently. "I want you to go and train her, Jasmine, teach her every thing you

know."

[amine stood up and nodded her head. "I will do my best,"

Taloose stood up suddenly, his crimson eyes shining with fierce determination. "We will

destroy this evil and bring peace to the worlds, to life, and to the universe." He shouted raising his

fist as a symbol of defiance.

His proclamation was met by a loud cheering that echoed in waves across the field.

"I will now begin my journey to earth. Her training will be long and demanding, but she will

do well. After all she is my blood." Jasmine closed her eyes tightly. "I will miss you all. I will return

soon." She tilted her head back and immediately began to fade away to nothingness.

"Good luck!" Taloose called after her, "Make me proud!"

"And remember," Silverstream murmured darkly."The time is short. You must hurry if the

worlds are to survive."
