A love poem of forgotten love
I awoke this day
Feeling rather confused
It must have been a dream
My thoughts now weigh
I admit, I am bemused
As these thoughts were extreme

It has been so long
Since I thought of you
I thought it was real
The smells were so strong
This had to be true
You, I could feel

While I slept last night
We were walking down the road
We were holding hands
And you began to recite
Your tales from abroad
And told me of your future plans

I then pointed to a office tower
And said "remember when I worked there?"
Smiling, you said "remember, I worked there to"
I gave you a flower
The wind moved your hair
And then I kissed you

But then I was waking
And you were slipping away
As dreams always do
I can still hear your voice sing
Like a song being lost over the ocean spray
And I realized how much I miss you

I remembered your face
With your brunette hair
And your beautiful gray eyes
The subtleties of your grace
The look of your stare
And never any guise

The time is long gone
But I remember that kiss we shared
Early that one morning
Just before dawn
After which I felt impaired
And my head was spinning

That memory has been etched
Into my immortal soul
I cannot forget that night
My thoughts have been fetched
For the memories of that kiss I stole
From that beautiful sprite
