This is an invitation to stand at my vantage point and feel the pull along with me.

Prologue

This is not intended as a philosophical treatise. .

I will leave the discussion of philosophy to the dark coffee houses near the great institutions of learning where the finest minds of our time discuss and refute hypotheses so complex that I can not follow them.  I am not soliciting a counter hypothesis however valid, or how formally correct.

This is just one old man's personal vision of one possible explanation of something that is so large and complex that it can paralyze even the finest mind. This piece can be regarded as pure fiction and is used to establish the basis for some of my story.
*************************************************************************************************************************************************

Before the current beginning,  before space, before time,  the sole survivor and  the sum total of everything that had ever been, reached a decision to become again.

Here "It" is nothing, and everything. Peaceful, yet completly alone.

"It" is aware of the paradox of “not being” that can only be solved by splitting apart.  This can be mathematically represented by two symbols that when combined become zero or nothing.  When viewed individually they represent equal and opposite sets of dimensions.

Only the thin fragile fabric of the Universe separates them.

In one great book of wisdom it says, “In the beginning was the word.”

The Word was power.  Once spoken “Be” and its vast store of essence became energy.  The precursor to all that was, is, or ever will be, in these new dimensions.

The first light show dazzled its creator who was content, for awhile just watching the twin spheres light and dark compete for the same space.

Where their skins touched, the fabric of time and space formed.  Like a  balloon expanding at the speed of light,it reaches out into the infinite void, trying to occupy Its former domain.

The dark and light are separated by a membrane.  Holes where bits of matter and anti-matter leak with ferocious energy  from one space into the other.  On one side a black hole hides in the darkness, a blank spot in the center of our galaxy;  on the other side a fountain of light is almost invisible against the radiance of the all white sky.

A  spiral of glowing particles swirl round and round against the darkness creating what we call a spiral galaxy.  Matter and energy spiral around a giant drain. Gravity is so strong it pulls in the light from this side to the other.

Perhaps a fountain of  dark matter spews forth on polar axis paths from the disc. From our vantage point in our galazy almost hidden in the outer regions of the band of circling stars it is impossible to tell.

I stand on the surface of a small blue planet circling a rather insignificant star. It is from here that I view the night sky when weather permits. I feel the feeling, a pulling like gravity deep inside my soul. Perhaps someday it will allow me to explore the stars from other vantage points.

It is this bit of Scilosophy, (my word to describe the foundation of my belief system), that I want to share with my readers.

This piece is by no means intended to even hint at the whole story!

Somehow, I do not believe that we are but cosmic dice tossed on a gambling table.

Nor do I believe that a creator, God, would be so crass as to amuse himself watching the tribes of Abraham attempt to destroy each other like red ants and black ants fighting it out over a crust of bread.

Thus I have serious problems with some religious philosophies, that is why I stick to my Scilosophy,

It makes sense, at least to me!  I can learn new things!  Those which I  cannot explain I readily admit, that quite simply, I do not know.

I do think there is good and evil. (Both unilateral definitions are totally subjective in nature), Both dwell deep in the heart of every man.  Some people, however, have managed to extinguish one or the other of these traits. Thus we have both saints and monsters loose in our world.

Please watch for my fictional book of one possible ending of the Universe. No doubt exists in my mind that the less than noble part played by species homo sapiens will be a factor in the beginning of the end of all that is.
