Nature is perhaps the most serene and calming of things that we come across. The subtle yet varied colors, sensual fragrances, gentle textures and graceful movements bring out the divine is us. Separate and in contrast to the mundane and cacophonic hum drums of daily life, nature provides us with an escape, a chance to be at peace with oneself, and to rejuvenate and recharge for the next stressful day. Nature as we picture it to be, is best found in our own garden. Not the overgrown, unkempt, “pathway” of a garden. But the hard worked, artistically decorated nursery where you plant… or rather give LIFE. This is a place where garden décor comes in.

To start with, flowers are the best of a gardens features, and in bloom, they are simply unbeatable. So plant flowers in such a way that your garden is in bloom throughout the year. Plants come in for various seasons, and an experienced Gardner will be able to guide you as to which plants to plant, and when, so as to get full bloom throughout. Next comes the part for birds, butterflies & bees, which form the very best of the garden décor. You simply can’t beat the beauty of a butterfly, the grace of a humming bird or the buzz of a bee by putting up any and every synthetic décor. For that you require some lucrative elements, a bird bath and bird house will do you good, but keep a lookout for squirrels lest they render you bird house without any bird feed. A Gardner can advice you on the type of flowers to keep, flowers that will attract butterflies and some which will be a call for the humming birds.

Water, the essential element is also one of the most beautiful. A water fountain with that mellow sound of flowing water (not to mention the grandeur) will not only attract the birds, but will also add serenity and peace to your garden. A water fountain can be a wonderful idea. And so are wind chimes, not the clunky, cankerous calling ones, but the tinkling, soothing ones which will fill your garden with heavenly song. Next comes, lighting. Lighting can bring out an aspect that is so different and in so much contrast that you yourself would be amazed. So concentrate on your lighting, step into the neighborhood mall and dwell on, in the lighting section. Imagine and extrapolate on the way a, certain light will reflect & refract when kept in this or that corner of your garden. Play this mind game and when you have dwelt on it for a while, just pick it up. And see your garden glow with splendor and gratitude. Last but not the least is furniture. Be comfortable, enjoy the garden, put in benches and chairs, tables and swings. Don’t clutter… instead choose delicately. A perfectly placed chair, with the right color and the right comfort not only adds to your gardens décor, but also lets you dwell in the heaven that you have yourself created.
