an article on "motor carrier road atlas" - words 400 approx, usage 7-8 times.
A motor carrier road atlas in hand, I set about to explore the world. The scenic flow of landscape, the freshness of the air and the uninhibited view turns on the switch of the philosophical mind. Unlike travel by air or water, the continuity of the landscape, is not marred by any insipid void. And then there is the power, and the possibility of following a wild whim, of turning on to a slim line marked on your motor carrier road atlas which is not possible in other modes of travel. But then road travel is not all about emotional philandering and there is this practical trucker whose philosophical turnings have given way to the mundane routines of necessity.

But some advantages of road travel can easily (and often do) become some of its gravest misgivings. Lost in the country without any form of compass, and nobody to turn to can turn into a nightmare. It is then you remember the bible… no! not that one, but the road travel bible, the Motor Carrier Road Atlas.

When on the road, the oft repeated adage can be slightly twisted to become “With the Motor Carrier Road Atlas in my hand, I felt like a man”. Take the example of the often used Rand McNally Road atlas. With is spiral bind, flat base, laminated pages and that large print. This and other such Motor Carrier Road Atlases can come quite handy with their marked ways, turning pointers, distances, even time calculation between two points. Information on tourist places, hotel and restaurants is often un-remarked albeit useful data. Motor Carrier Road Atlases work in the remotest of places, unlike the digital GPS. Storms do not have the power to cause havoc to your tour plans unlike the transmission problems for your state of the art navigational GPS with a list of those zwetta features. They don’t need charging and easily bear the often spilled cup of coke. The large print of a Motor Carrier Road Atlas is easily readable especially for those with weak eyes. The completeness of the map easily prevails over the small screen and the lack of continuity in a digital GPS. And last but not the least… they do not break, hang up or get bugged.

A Motor Carrier Road Atlas can be easily and cheaply bought from any of the traditional stores, or ordered online from Amazon. They may cost somewhere between 10$ to 30$ a remarkably small price compared to the information they provide and the hard life they go through.
