A poem for a friend, about a friend.
A hope caged
A thought singing in my mind
Your face
A comforting sight
Your eyes
With all your history in them
The happiness, the pain.
Your touch
Burns like a brand
A phantom caressing me in my darkest hour
Your smell
Never leaving my mind.
You haunt me
Never far away
Always in the corner of my vision
Disappearing as soon as I turn.
I hear your voice
Comforting like the rush of the ocean
Ebbs and flows
Always clear in my head.
