I wrote this poem after 6 months of my fiance being gone
Sometimes I lose sight of the future,

and sometimes cry myself to sleep.

because anywhere in the world you are,

somewhere far from me.

emails and facebook pokes,

and phonecalls next to none.

Secret missions, late night gaurd,

your always on the run.

Thank you brave man,

you fight for me and mine

and while you're over there,

know that we are fine.

A ring hangs around my neck,

next to tags that say your name.

I wonder if when you get home,

you'll ever feel the same.

the closest way I feel to you,

clinched hard between my hand.

I sleep safe and sound at night,

and you sleep on the sand.
