for my daughter
I wont ever be famous
Or have my name on wall
I wont ever travel the world
Or eat caviar on a hundred dollar wafer
I will be a mom
I will be a lover
I will touch someone’s life
In some significant way
Without ever knowing
What it was that I did
I will know love
Affection and hate
I will have my heart broken
And reflect on how Ive grown
I will grow old
I will die
I wont hold regret
Or take anything with me
I will watch over you
From wherever I am
In life or in death
Your guardian
