Hunting- from an animal's perspective!
  Five months old I was,
The day Mother left me.
She promised she would be back,
As early as possible with a juicy snack!
It was nearing dinner time, and I was all alone
I was scared of the dark and wished Mother would come home.
I sat in the corner, with my heart in a twist.
Straining my eyes to catch sight of her through the mist.

Five months old I was,
When I had to feel the pain.
Of losing my mother who wasn’t coming back home again.
When I heard the gun shot I knew she had died.
She was bleeding and lying on her side.
There was nothing I could do,
I howled in agony and in pain
I tried to make her see me, but in vain.

Five months old I was,
When I was told to begin life on my own,
With no Mother and no family.
I cried with sadness and with grief
The time with Mother had been very brief.
I was all alone in this horrible world,
Scared of everything bigger than me.
I wished she was here with me.

Five months old I was,
A lone tiger cub, in the wild.
Mr. Man had taken away Mother.
He took away my family just to satisfy his greed.
He wanted money for her beautiful skin and her meat.
He will kill her and sell her,
And bask in the glory of his catch.
While I will miss the Mother that I love very much.

My Mother who is never coming back…
