Cramp Entry Winner 02/15/11: poem about your true love of yesterday (monorhyme style).
The lies leak from your eyes like black soup as you tell how our love is a success

We have been off and on for years – no commitment, strangers in the night, I guess.

The only time you need me is when you are lonely and you call with your voice in duress,

“I miss you, I need you…” Foolishly, I bite the bait-drinking the sour poison you possess.

Yet in my mind, I know that you are just a pasty ghost in our connection, there is someone else you obsess.

I see how you are when he comes around, how your eyelashes flitter and praises lather over with excess.

You talk about being married and raising a family with because age like a slug creeps over your sagging and thin flesh,

When I ask for you if you are ready for marriage, you shrug your shoulders then go to the club to feel younger and try to impress.

I know you went out with him because you are careless, sloppy, I better rethink our bond and then assess

What the meaning of this relationship really is and if you are worth waiting for as you go out again squeezed into a cherry colored dress.

The decision is made, you can continue seeing my best friend, and may God sincerely offer to you His willingness to bless

Your new relationship and there is no bitterness…ten years was enough, I’ll find another lonely princess.
