Philos means brother and this poem is about how joy and sorrow are brothers.
Sorrow, carve my soul away!
Make me want to die today!
And hollow me with knives of truth
Brought to me by her, from you.

Loneliness, shatter my heart to pieces!
And when the tightest bond releases,
Make me pick the pieces out
Of a part of me I didn't know about.

For the deeper that pain carves into my soul,
The more joy can be filled in this hollow hole.
And now the shattered heart exposes what is inside:
Love, just like you, something beautiful,
That's died.
