A poem inspired by my dad.
Dad, Just For You

We painted pictures,
Growing dreams through play as
Imagination turned to life;

Circling each other,
Jumping shadows and sunshine,
Learning while daylight glowed from gold
To red and set with sleepy eyes.

We watched the fingers of night
Point towards our beds
And listened to stories you gave us,

Letting our minds swim and hug;
Dancing together as time took the lead
Parting senses with distance,
Allowing us to explore.
