I open the door

Conversation stops

Walking.

Whispers exchanged

Silent laughter

Eyes rolled in disgust

Head down.

People step out of my path

Almost there.

I am tripped and laughter is produced at my expense

Standing up. Holding back tears.

I turn the corner.

I am alone.

If only they knew.
