This is how I feel my family on my mother's side is

You say you love me,
You say shit about me all the time,
Laugh about how I look,
How I dress and even the color polish I wear

Who the fuck are you?
Don’t tell me how I should be,
You’re not that important to have that say

You know I used to cut,
You act as if I didn’t or forgot,
You pretend as if you’ve never seen my scars,
Ignore them cause you think my mom is to blame
Well, like the scars on my arm,
I’m your scar, I’m the one you can’t get rid of,

My mom isn’t to blame for how I am,
No, it’s my dad, it’s people in general,
How people treat me,
How they look at me,
Talk about me as if I can’t hear them,
Treat me as if I have no feelings

There are so many things to say I’d love to say,
I know none of you will listen, nor understand,
You all under estimate me,
Under estimate how my life could be,
How I want it to be

I’m always seeking acceptance within “your circle”,
The circle of achievers,
Instead I’m in the circle of “failure”, with my mother,
My aunt, and my cousin

We just have a different way of doing things than you,
I see in your eyes what you think of me,
What you think of my mom,
The look of disgust is written on your face,
The look that we can’t do anything right,
The look that you’re all better than us,
Have a better life,
Better memories,
Better jobs,
Better everything
