A poem about how abuse and trauma can affect you, even years later.

  “Escape Plan”

The taste of your memory is like venom,
Burning the skin from my tongue,
Making my flesh more vulnerable to the acidic nature that is still stimulated from your fist;
Your fist is still striking me from 8 years ago.
You have no right to invade me;
To come into my private space to antagonize me further with your demonic smirk of mental illness;
Your smirk is disguised in something you called love.
Something more intense than hate suffocates out the risk of insanity.
Your face;
Twisted and distorted reflects in the puddle made by my tears of hostility.
You have scribbled your legacy onto my canvas;
You have spoiled it with your art that is worthless.
I will erase you!!!
Somehow….
Someway…
Someday….
