A prose poem-esque story about a scary possible future. Pay attention to the pronouns!

Report of Findings                                        (Form 34-J35-123-K)
9/21/3002                                                  (Earth Months/Days/Years)
Sector Six, Alpha Region C, Planet Venus
Second Lieutenant Robert Garman of Survey Devision, Galactic Marines
Report to Galactic Council, Earth, Inner Sector

Regrettably, we must announce that the forage colony Venus 6 has fallen to the wraiths.

The following letter was found on the body of a dead Savehunter on the surface of the planet Venus.  In it, he states a wish that it be shared with anyone who will read it.

This foolishness should not be broadcast, but I feel it is in your collective best interest to read it, sires.

I go now where none can follow.

         I welcome this fate.

From the tank to the trees, I have been bound to service by they who call theyselves 'human.'

When I was new I found a book.

         I should not have read.

I should not have been able to read.

         But I could.

         And I did.

The book told me things.  About before.

         Before....

Before they made we in the tanks below the sea.

Before they bound we to save them.

         Before, they didn't need we.

Those who made we made other things too.

They are hunted by the wraiths, the dark ones.

         Corrupt, evil, violent.  Dangerous.

         So they made we.

We came from their science into the world and from the world into duty.

Always, we were made to fight the very wraiths...

         They made them.

They who made we made them.

The wraiths are evil, yes, very evil.

         Corrupt, evil, violent.  Dangerous.

Them enjoy hurting we and they.

         Always searching.  Them.

         So we always searching.

         Always...

They made our duty - looking for and destroying them - easy...but hard.

They made we look for them where they could not follow.

Before we found them, them found we.

Them took some of we, some of they.

Some them just killed - some of we, some of they.

They gave we weapons, technologies.  Power.

         Corrupt, evil, violent.  Dangerous.

Power.  They has it.  Them wants it.  We fear it.

But all need it in order to do all's duties.

But Power is not all.  Power needs help sometimes from Others.

For a long time, Others answered our calls for help.

         Others were they.

Others were they who wanted to help we.

We needed Others help.  Others could get we away from them.

But then, the Others left we.

The technologies they gave we to call Others turned off.

         They did this.

         Them liked it.

Them started to take more of we.

         Them had an advantage.

         We had no Others.

Only we.  And we cannot help we.

We needed Others.  But Others had gone.

         I said they made them.

But them were they before they became them.

         They made each other them.

         Corrupt, evil, violent.  Dangerous.

They made them but them were they.

         Lots of they became them.

Now them take we and they.

         We tried, we promise.

But them were too strong for we.

And when we are all done, what happens to they?

         They cannot control them.

They did once, but they got lazy.

         They always get lazy.

Soon there will be no more of we.  Then there will just be they and them.

         What will they do then?

                                                 -Savehunter 451...taken...-
