Wishful thinking.
Why aren’t you mine?
Oh, that’s right.
You’re with her.
Ah well.
Just know, I’m here,
When she breaks your beautiful heart.
I know she will.
That’s what they do.
That’s what you did to me.
Led me on, took my heart
And mashed it, like it was nothing.
Was it nothing to you?
Well, it was something to me.
If only in my mind.
I wanted you, I needed you.
Just to hold me.
And say everything will be okay.
You couldn’t even do that.
Well, that’s what I get, I guess.
If you even remember me, know that I love you.
I love you enough to let you go.
Even though the sun won’t shine anymore.
Farewell. I wish I wouldn’t
See you again, but
I’ll see you walking the halls, talking,
Without knowing you stomp on my heart with each word,
each footstep that takes you farther away from me.
