Just a poem about a lifetime love.
I used to know what love is,
Of that I’m pretty sure.
For me it’s just a feeling,
Of thoughts so kind and pure.

But it’s been so long since I’ve felt it,
I’m questioning its existence at all.
I remember it‘s when your heart feels happy,
And it’s head over heels you fall.

Sometimes it happens in the springtime,
When the flowers are in bloom,
So you just get engaged,
And simply become the groom.

Thirty years have passed you by.
My how time has flown.
And it’s your love for her,
you hope that she has known.

The kids have grown up,
And simply moved away.
But still you know,
That it’s by her side you‘ll stay.

I thought it‘s love that I didn’t remember,
But my heart sings a happy song.
I’d been so busy living,
That I’d forgot to sing along.

Now yes I know what love is
Of that,
I know for sure.
It’s a feeling I have for her,
Of thoughts so kind and pure.
