A poem of realisation.
Tell me why you didn't,
Treat me the way you should.
Tell me why that girl,
Gave me more than you ever could.
Tell me why you felt,
You couldn't lay down next to me.
When she came round to stay,
And didn't sleep til after three.

Repulsive, vile and ugly,
Are some words that you once used.
So you see why this girl,
Has got me so confused.
Could your feelings be related,
  To any other guy?
My head is saying one thing,
But my heart is asking 'why?'.

You told me that you loved me,
But couldn't look me in the face.
When we were out in public,
  Like I was a disgrace.
I laughed and cried when I was with you,
Gave you all of my trust.
Now when I look back, those memories,
  Just fill me with disgust.

At least I know I'm free now,
You no longer hold me back.
I shook you off, I felt my worth,
  Found confidence which i lack.
The problems I have dealt with,
  Confusion, hurt and pain.
Made me a stronger person,
As I had so much to gain.

The sparkle in my eye,
That special something that I lost.
It's coming back, bit by bit,
  No matter what the cost.

Oh, and back to that girl,
  Who caused all the confusion.

She is my Angel,
  You're just an illusion.
