What to do with that something. Called a comfort zone.
When the unknown approaches
An eerie sense overwhelms
We freeze.
In this horrid apprehension that
Unknown is something to
Fear

Unfamiliarity
Is something we all despise
Whatever we don’t know
Is what we don’t like
Whatever is not known
Is the enemy
The worst fear

Something called a comfort zone
Our best protector
Builds us the safe house of
The acquainted
So there’s always something
We can call home.

Only perhaps
Our best companion
Is something called adventure
So once in a while
We have the courage
To put one foot out the door

Of something called
The comfort zone.
