This is a silly story i wrote in 8th grade! Ha!
At midnight on Halloween night I decided to take my friend Maria inside an old, run-down, where we would encounter an old talking skeleton. At 11 o' clock at night I asked my friend to meet me at Maple Lane, and when she arrived we began to walk.
"Where are we going," she asked.
I didn't reply to her question because she is a scardy cat. Finally we arrived.
"What the heck?!"
I laughed, "Come on, I just wanna look inside."
We walked up the stairs to the door, the stairs made an old creaking sound then all I did was touch the door knob and it automatically opened.
"Come on, Ariel, let's go," she whined. I looked and her and smiled. I walked in first then she stumbled in behind me. It looked like no one had lived here for centuries. All you saw was cobwebs and dust. The air tasted like it needed a shower! I walked in a little further and the floor creaked beneath my feet.
"Seriously, Ariel let's go," she said.
"Why?"
"We will wake the neighbors," she said with a nervous chuckle.
"No one lives next door, stupid!"
"Ok, how about this reason, I just don't want to be here and it's too dark to walk by myself."
"How did you get here?"
"My mommy," she said with a whimper.
"I guess you're outta luck."
She let out an exasperated sigh and walked to me. I began to walk up the stairs. The stairs were blood red, with dark stains.
"Is that juice," Maria asked.
"Maybe," I said with a smirk.
Every step we took there was a creak, once we were on the second floor a monkey wearing a Bellhop uniform, he even had a little hat, ran down the hall.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
Both of us screamed while holding on to each other. It was funny because Maria almost fell down the stairs, it wasn't funny because she would have pulled me with her. We got ourselves together and we walked into a room. It looked so medieval. It reminded you somewhat of the Italian Renaissance. The only weird thing thing about this particular room is that it didn't look as old as the rest of the house, it actually looked like someone lived here. Then we heard something from the closet like a laugh. I started to walk towards it.
"Ariel, you know how in those corny scary movies there is always the dumb girl who always open the closet even though clearly there are signs telling her not to?"
"Yeah," I replied.
"Well right now you're that girl, don't open that door and let's go!"
"No! What if there is a magical land behind this door? Or what if you sweetheart, Kyle, is in there?"
She rolled her eyes, "I told you I don't like him, I just admire him."
I shook my head and moved closer to the door. I stood in front of the closet. There was eye carved on the door, I swear it looked like it blinked, but it could be this house tricking my mind. Hesitantly I reached for the door then Maria grabbed my arm.
"If something jumps out and grabs you, I can't come get you!"
I shook her off and continued to open the door. I turned the knob and the door shot opened! I jumped back, then out of the darkness stalked out an extremely tall skeleton. He had on a top hat, a cape, and had a cane with an eye on it, an actual eye! He came out laughing and coughing.
"(cough, cough) sorry lads, I mean ladies (cough) it's quite stuffy in there," he said with a thick British accent
"Umm-mm.... So what's your name," I asked stupidly.
"My name is James Victorian III, and you are?"
"I'm Ariel, and this is Maria," behind me she waved.
Once we started smiling he spoke with a loud booming voice.
"Beware foolish mortals, I have fooled y...."
I cut him off.
"We can see you fooled us," I said sarcastically.
"Don't make him angry," Maria begged.
"DO NOT INTERRUPT ME AGAIN! You have displeased me, you shall be punished. I will tie you up and leaved you unfed and thirsty."
"I have an orthodontics appointment on Tuesday, Mr. Tall Scary Dude," Maria whimpered.
"Since your busy schedule is too full, I will just eat you!"
"Wont we go through you, hahaha," I replied.
Maria even joined the laugh.
"Tell another joke and I will eat you first!"
I started to sing, "The eye ball is connected.... To the eye ball socket, wait he doesn't have an eye!"
He was about to grab me until that monkey came in and took a rib from the skeleton and he collapsed.
"I have been trying to get rid of that maniac for years, I'm tired of this hat," said the monkey.
We thanked him and let him go. Then Maria and I ran clear from that place.
But, every Halloween if you walk past the house you could here his vile laughter.
"MWHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAA, (cough,cough)"
