A little something I wrote about the value of Sentiment
I sit here recalling past emotions in tranquility,
signposts that lead the way through life.
Memories of tears shed and of words spoken in heartache.
Feelings of what I am - Not the image I convey to others.
No one can know my awareness or my consciousness,
or what goes on in my mind, unless I choose to show them the real me...
The thinking, loving, living, caring me...

Why should I try to hide behind a cloak of sophistication or harness?
Why say thanks when I really mean God bless you,
or
Cheerio when I mean I'll be lonely without you.
I am not afraid of being sentimental or of showing my sensitivity and tenderness
because a life without sentiment is like a world without flowers, without music,
without warmth and without life.

In this cruel, terrible and impersonal world,
Let us keep aglow the lovely light of sentiment.
