Inspired by a fellow poet on twitter, I provided the phrase, we both wrote a poem.
I loved once
its grip
the ocean
a riptide

I let it
take me
making me
its bride

One with it
I became
roaring
and strong

but then
a storm came
fierce
and long

releasing its grip
tossed ashore
I loved
in vain

now sand
in my pocket
is all that
remains
