My life in Iraq
I can't believe I am in Iraq
My heart keeps telling me to go back
Back to the crib is where I need to be
Relaxing in bed with my baby and me
It's my choice I made to come out here
I just wish things could have been more clear
If I had just stopped and wondered
What it would be like to be at Camp Anaconda
I don't think I'd be here
I have many fears
I think about when the next mortar might land
Running to the bunkers, or having to lye flat on the sand
Guys always trying to holler
When I don't want to be bothered
My Room is like a box
with one key and a unsecured lock
You have to wait on long lines for everything you do
And don't forget about the barbed wired fence that entraps us too
I 'm sure I left some details out
It's just hard to explain what this place is about.
