3rd Place Winner for: 4th Quarter Rhyme Time Poetry Contest, Shadow's Ink Poetry
Such seasons of my life have come to pass,
and yet the image never seems to stray—
My heart forever dwells therein en masse,
living these wistful thoughts of yesterday.

Sun-kissed tendrils of youthful, silken hair
dance waltzes through the cloudless, azure sky.
My youthful laughs still whirl and echo there
along the river’s aged and watchful eye.

Bright fireflies swim in the moonlit breeze
with Summer’s warm breath like Love’s soft embrace;
tender shadows reach to my soul to seize
and hold me ‘ever in this brilliant place.

Like the season has changed, now so have I,
but such treasured memories never die.
